Just one

We had just Dean last night all to ourselves. It was alot of fun to have just one boy around, we did soccer practice, back-to-school night, watched a little survivor, bath time and bedtime all with just ONE. Bryce was with Grandma and Peepaw at the volleyball game and even spent the night all by himself. He did great and only asked to come home once and that was on the way out of the volleyball game. I asked Dean if he missed Bryce and he said yes and that we will get him back when we go pick him up at Grandma and Peepaw's. This morning he said he slept okay but missed having Bryce in the same room. It's so neat to see how the two loving having each other around and how much the count on each other just to be there. I guess we all do that in life, we take so much for granted. Off to another day - can't wait to pick Bryce up this afternoon to hear about all the things he did with Grandma and Peepaw.

I'll try to get a pic up of Dean at Back-to-school night. He proudly showed us around his room with lots of excitement and his favorite thing seemed to be the weather board.

Dean's 1st day of School

Went wonderful! We started off late - Ben and I didn't wake up on the alarm so we were all a little rushed!! Dean you were more interested in when soccer practice was today and didn't understand why you had to go to school and Miss Carol's first - "Not fair".

We had your favorite for breakfast Orange Rolls!! Daddy took Bryce to Carol's and I hopped in the truck as you drove by at School and went in the back door to Daddy's gym. We met Mabel who you will be staying with in the computer lab after school until daddy picks you up at 11. We walked to your room and you found your cubby and hung up your backpack! You were ready to go - we said bye with hugs and kisses and you were as happy as can be!!

dad - "What was your favorite part?"

dean - "All the parts!"

mom and dad - "So Dean how was your day?"

dean - "I listened to the teacher!" with a big smile

mom and dad - "What did the teacher tell you?"

dean - "I don't remember!"

You did great and we are so proud of you and how happy you were to go to school - you are such an independent little boy!

A new day

We started off this morning with a great start!! I got up and made pancakes for everyone and we have nice CLEAN water now!! The well is finally hooked up and working great! Dean and Bryce you two were so happy this morning - it makes the morning before work and school so much easier when you wake up with smiles on your faces! While I was upstairs finishing getting ready myself you two were downstairs. Dean - "If you're not sticky you don't need a wipe!" This was the topic of discussion between you two for a while; Bryce - "I'm not sticky." But after all was said and done - Bryce you were sticky but that's okay. Bryce you wore your spiderman costume to Miss Carols and Dean you took your cowboy gun and holster with you!

You two boys make my morning so bright and make me look forward to coming to pick you up each day!!!

Hershey Park!

The four of us went to Hershey park on Friday the 13th! We had a blast - they boys loved the rides. We stayed at Best Western on Thursday where we had a "tv and beds" as Dean and Bryce describe it!

Friday we got to the park about 8am and wandered on in - the boys were so excited. I enjoyed watching all of their energy just from the excitement of what was coming! They were a little hesitant at first about getting on the rides but after the "balloon ride" they were game for anything! Ben even got to ride a roller coaster while I hung out with the boys.

After the park we walked into Chocolate World - very refreshing to be inside with AC. We did the tour there which was very cool and a good way to end the day! Everything smelled like chocolate afterwards we bought some chocolate of course and then got some ice cream. I was craving a milkshake and boy did it hit the spot!! We had a wonderful time!

weekend with Grandma and Peepaw!

Dean and Bryce spent the weekend with grandma and peepaw while we were at a wedding in west virginia. They got to spend the day at graves mountain lodge for bluegrass festival and play in the water and ride around the campground.

why because mom?

a note to Bryce:

Bryce you are always interested in the why and will ask continuously until you like the answer given. Last night on our way home you were asking something and then you said "Why because mom?" I had no answer to satisfy you but you seemed happy with that ... I love that about you - you are so curious and kind.

When we got home you realized you had forgotten your gun at mammaw's house - you wanted to drive your jeep over to get it but it was dark! You were not happy but again in your kind ways you were okay and said defiantly "I forgot it!"
